To support recovery from nerve damage in trigeminal neuralgia, it is important to stabilize the unstable flow of the nerve.

What is trigeminal neuralgia?

A condition in which damage to the trigeminal nerve (cranial nerve V) causes severe facial pain

The trigeminal nerve is one of the cranial nerves responsible for facial sensation. It is a mixed nerve with sensory and motor functions and is also called the fifth cranial nerve.

The trigeminal nerve splits into three main branches. Trigeminal neuralgia occurs when problems in the structure and function of the nerve pathway, such as blood vessels in the brain or the jaw joint, lead to nerve damage.

It occurs mainly in middle-aged and older women, with an incidence of about 4–5 per 100,000 people each year, and it is gradually increasing.

Main symptoms of trigeminal neuralgia

The pain that appears early on is often so intense that it is hard to bear,

and while it usually affects one side, it can also affect both sides.

Why Korean Medicine care for trigeminal neuralgia

Finding the source and caring for the pain

For trigeminal neuralgia, Korean Medicine care can be considered

alongside medication or surgical treatment.

We provide care with acupuncture, pharmacopuncture, and Korean herbal medicine.

We offer Korean Medicine care that can be received together with medication.

At Ebian Korean Medicine Clinic, Korean Medicine care focuses on stabilizing the flow of the nerve to support recovery from nerve damage.

Our care focuses on addressing problems in the nerve pathway connected to blood vessels in the brain and the jaw joint.

Alongside this, we combine Korean Medicine therapies that look at the circulation of qi and blood.
